Wanda Suso is a minor character in Love, Simon. She is the mother of Abigail Suso and Isaac Suso.
Love, Simon[]
Wanda's only appearance is in Simon Spier's imagination. Simon imagines each of his friends coming out as straight to their parents. When Abby tells her mother that she likes men, she replies "You get that from your daddy's side", and then begins to cry and ask for Jesus' help, upon Abby saying she is heterosexual.
Leah on the Offbeat[]
Wanda is briefly mentioned throughout the novel. She makes a quick appearance towards the end when she drops Abby off at the Spier's house for pictures before the prom.
Trivia[]
- Her comment about Abby getting her liking of men from her father's side is meant to be humorous, but later becomes ironic as it is revealed in The Upside of Unrequited that Abby's paternal aunt, Nadine is gay and is married to a bisexual woman, Patricia. Abby is also later revealed to not be straight.
- The movie makes no mention of her son, Isaac, and makes it seem as Abby is her only child.
