Mr. Worth is a minor character who makes his first appearance in Love, Simon. He is portrayed by Tony Hale.

Personality[]

He’s a major scene stealer as the amped Vice Principal who tries desperately to be accepted by his students as “cool” even as he is constantly taking away their cell phones with quips like, “I can't have all my students Tindering it up. That’s my department!”

Love, Simon[]

He usually takes the cell phones from the students, when he sees that they use them in the hallways or classrooms.

Every time he stops Simon in the school hallways and tries to bond. “Hey, don’t text and drive! That’s how my cat got killed,” he says one day. “Just kidding I don’t have cats. I have asthma."

When everybody is making fun of Simon about his sexuality, Mr. Worth uses a pride pin to support him.

Love, Victor[]

Ms. Albright shows Victor photos and tells him that Mr. Worth took a trip to India, and got bit by a monkey, and she was promoted until further notice.

Trivia[]

  • In the book, the only teacher that is shown frequently is Ms. Albright, Simon's theatre teacher, and she plays a greater role in fighting off the homophobic comments and actions which target Simon in school.
    • However, in the movie an additional character, Mr. Worth, is added to add more comedy to the movie and Ms. Albright is not seen as often as in the book.
    • There is a possibility that his name could be "Tony Worth" referencing his actors name
