Jacques is the online alias of Simon Spier. He adopts the nickname when he begins communication with Blue.

After a mystery student, using the alias "Blue", posts on the creeksecrets Tumblr page that he is gay, Simon creates the online persona of "Jacques" to message Blue and tell him that he is just like him.
Hints and Clues[]
While the audience knows Jacques' identity from the beginning, Simon uses the name as a subtle hint to Blue to his true identity as the name "Jacques" is taken from the French phrase "Jacques a dit" which is known in English as "Simon Says".
Trivia[]
- The email address associated with "Jacques" is different from the novel to the movie. In the novel, the email address is hourtohour.notetonote@gmail.com which is a reference to the Elliot smith song "Waltz #2" and in the movie it is frommywindow@gmail.com.
