Jack Spier is an secondary character in Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda and its movie adaptation, Love, Simon, he also make cameos in the book, Leah on the Offbeat and the TV series, Love, Victor. He's the husband of Emily Spier and the father of Alice, Simon and Nora Spier. In Love, Simon and Love, Victor, he is portrayed by Josh Duhamel.

Personality[]

Jack is a kindhearted and loving father and husband. He's totally fine with his son being gay.

Jack has dark brown hair and a little gray, and brown eyes.

Jack makes an appearance towards the end of the book. He is seen taking several pictures of Simon and his friends before they head to prom.

At the beginning of the film, he is seen gifting Simon a car with his wife. Simon describes him as the "handsome quarterback who married the hot valedictorian."

In one scene, Simon is watching a boy through the window, Jack enters Simon's room, without knocking. Simon gets scared and the father says: "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were masturbating", and told him to come down for breakfast, after he finished looking at photos of "Gigi Habib" in lingerie.

Then he shows him a video he made for his anniversary with his wife, Simon told him that it looked like a video made by a fourth grader, and that he would help him.

Then on Halloween, after seeing Simon arrive drunk from a party, he and his wife wonder if they are good parents.

Love, Victor[]

In The Truth Hurts, Simon tells Victor that he was out of commission the last few days, because his family was in town for the weekend, and he and Bram were showing them around the city; meanwhile Victor was looking at a photo of Bram, Simon, Emily and Jack Spier.

Jack later makes an appearance in There's No Gay in Team at a PFLAG meeting where he meets Armando Salazar, who tries to pick his brain about relating to his son now that Victor has come out. Jack and Armando then go to bar to discuss life with a gay son and how they both had visions for who their sons would be before they came out.
